1. Can a private limited company pay monthly/annual remuneration to an Alternate Director? If yes, is there any limit on this payment?

Strict provisions relating to remuneration are not applicable to a private company. So a private company is free to give any remuneration to its alternate dir subject to the provisions of articles.
