Dear sir,
Last quarter advance tax due date is 15.03.2009 i.e sunday. my doubt is advance tax paid on or before 15.03.2009 or paid on 16.03.2009

You can pay this on 14-03-09. If you still failed to do so you can pay this on 16-03-09. It's a call of ITO for consideration, but you can fight on that. There is case law for that. Soory i can't provide you the details of case. But i am sure the case law will help you for that.

Payment can be made on 16/3/2009. No harm and interest will not be levied. Pl refer CBDT circular 676 dt 14/1/1994 reported in 205 ITR (St)330.
