is the last date for submission of advance tax for A.Y 09-10 for month march extended to 16th of march 09?

Yes last date is 16th March

No, last date is 15.03.2009, but if on the last day there is banking holiday then last date will be treated the next working day for bank. However if you will deposit after 15.02.2009 but before 31.03.2009 that will also be treated as advance tax.

whenever Sunday/Holiday fall on last date then next working day is assumed as last date in all cases.
