Can a Foreign citizen of Indian Origin acquire RESIDENTIAL property in India? What is the procedure?

As I know, NRI has been given a general permission to acquire property in India.
But in case of POI who is not an Indian Citizen RBI Approval is required.
But in case of POI who is not an Indian Citizen RBI Approval is required.
