02 February 2013 i am completed b.com I am intented to do CA
i hear that for degree students CPT is exempted. whether i joined for IPCC what will i do first articleship or Theory. Bcz somebody Says that if u want direct IPCC u should do First Articleship then after only IPCC Exams. if i did articleship how can i get experience without Theory.
Please give clear Picture about this.

02 February 2013 To do direct IPCC need not to be join for articleship to appear for exams. It is optional only. Please go through the following explanation you will get clarification and confident.

Previously there is route for enter into CA is CPT- IPCC-Articleship and then final. To follow this first required to qualify CPT after that has to register for IPCC and has to appear for IPCC exams only after completion of 9 months from the date of registration to IPCC and then after completion of 1st group of IPCC or both groups of IPCC has to start articleship(before to registration to articleship one should complete 1st group of IPCC, ITT and Orientation) after completion of 2 and half years of articleship has to appear for Final and after completion of 3 years of articleship and qualifying Fianl exams and completions of GMCS(GMCS shall be complete either after qualified Final or in the last year of articleship or after appearred to exams). Then only a person become as CA.

Now the new scheme to enter into CA.

In this new scheme ICAI gave the exemption to graduates from appearing and qualifying of CPT. So they can directly enter into IPCC called "Direct entry scheme" under this scheme one who eligible under this scheme has to register for IPCC under direct entry after completion of 9 months from the date of registration he shall appear for his/her IPCC exams and also provided an option to those who registered under this scheme can start their articleship immediately after completion of ITT and orientation with out waiting for completion of 1st group of IPCC.all other further proses is same as old scheme.

So the main difference between OLD IPCC and Direct entry to IPCC is "the direct entry IPCC student at his option can start their articleship before completion of 1st group of IPCC but after completion of ITT & Orientation.

So you may register for direct IPCC and you need not to start your articleship immediately. It is option of you but to start your articleship you should be complete ITT & orientation.

Note: now ICAI changes the scheme of GMCS into GMCS-1 and GMCS-2 this scheme is applicable to all those who are registered for their articleship on or after 1-5-2012 they has to under go for 2 times GMCS, GMCS-1 in the first year of articleship and GMCS-2 in the last year of articleship or their after but before to apply for membership of CA.

In word, You need not to start your articleship immediately eventhough you registered for direct entry scheme of IPCC.
