This discussion seeks guidance on the appropriate income head for filing an Income Tax Return (ITR) for a relative who earns income from making gold ornaments, such as fixing stones. Although their income is below the taxable limit, they wish to file an ITR for personal reasons. The advice sought is whether to declare this income under 'professional income'.
