80c for 2012-13 for senior citizen options on dtc

Dear Sir/s....I would be grateful if you can let me know the 80C options once the DTC comes in to effect 0n 01 Apr 2012.
As we are looking for an income from corpus,PPF is not ideal for us as we are all over 60 yrs of age and because of 15 year maturity.
NPS is also out of the question as we do not have huge corpus or time for maturity for regular income.
NSC & 5 Year Bank Deposits and ELSS are not being considered to continue. As such ELSS would have been ideal....but that may ormay not be.
I would be grateful for any suggestions coming from any of the experts.

Recently New issue of NSC with enhanced interest rate has been launched. Investment opportunities are available till it is discontinued. Bank FDR's may also be thought for.

New avenues of investment will be opened by the DTC itself so, right now investment in the available schemes can only be guided.
