21 February 2012 One of our client's wife has paid LIC from her bank account and her income is below the tax slab. Now the husband wants to claim deduction of the LIC paid by wife from his income U/s 80C. Can he do so if the payment has been made from the wife's account? Please guide.

22 February 2012 Under 80C LIC premium paid by the assessee only can be claimed. so this case paid by wife`s account cannot claim by Husband.
