A lecturer earning £434,380 from two colleges, with TDS deducted under sections 194C and 194JB, is seeking guidance on filing their Income Tax Return (ITR). They are unsure whether to use ITR 4 under the presumptive taxation scheme 44AD, declare 6% profit, and what professional code to use. Advice suggests filing under ITR 3 as professional income or filing under the new scheme without opting for 44AD to claim a full TDS refund.
