'MBA' or 'PGDBM'

Hi,
I am B.com graduate & wants to make a good career in finance.
Due to some economical problems I am not able to do "MBA" from any famous government Institute.
Instead of that can I do "PGDBM" from any private institute.
Please tell me that:
1)what is the difference between both of this.?
2)What the discrepancies may come in career.?

1.Masters degree is awarded by a university.
Post graduate diploma need not be from a university.
2.Masters is preferred than diploma.

MBA from IGNOU is a better option. I believe this is the cheapest MBA course in our Country. Check out the information at www.ignou.ac.in
