Wrong TAN no. quoted

Sir,
Though my client was issued a new TAN no.,while filing return he has quoted old TAN no.But the Payment has been made rightly.Now,a notice for demand of TDS has been issued.Please guide
Sir,What if the due date of show cause notice sent by the department has expired.Can i follow ur guidance in such case also.Please guide
Sir,its wrong TAN quoted in IT RETURN.Its relates to FY 2008-09.Can i still revise or Rectify the return?

Try revising the original return with new TAN.

You will have to file Rectification of Intimation U/s 154 of the Income Tax Act, 1961.

Sorry I misunderstood it as wrong TAN quoted in IT Return. In such a case just revise the TDS return.
