Wrong in interest payment

I have made payment of interest of gst dec 2017, but it has gone to tax payment. I cant do upset of liability.

Kindly suggest me

14 June 2018 Dear Sir,

Since the Payment is made to Tax account it will be remain in your cash ledger. which can be used for set off of liability in the present month as well (if paid excess it can be used for future months ) you have to pay back the interest amount separately.

15 June 2018 The Balance in the credit ledger also can be offset against your liabilities payable for the respective months

Now We are paying Rs.500 per month as late fees, Our customer has paid more than that from july 2017.If it is reembursable.
