this question is relating to sales tax actually.
It is same as sales tax on transfer of property involved in the execution of any work contract.
it vary state to state on the basis of nature of goods involved. same for due dates.
In some states it a part of Sales Tax (VAT) Act (MP& CG). and in some cases (Maharashtra) there is a separate legislation
governing this tax.
