Actually I want To know Why Manufacturing Units have to pay Excise duty? Brief Explanation.

08 October 2012 why do we pay income tax.?as per the tax laws if anyone earns income ,he has to pay a part of it to govt as tax(obviosly subject to certain exemptions)..similarly if any one manufactures excisable goods, they are subject to tax..this is law
