According to which section or rule it is mandatory to maintain RG 23A Part-1 and Part-2 to avail CENVAT credit..??

These are old form to maintain the details of cenvat detail taken but presently there is no such form prescribed

Sir, if I don’t maintain RG 23A pt-1 and pt-2 but I have full detail regarding my inputs in excel sheet in other format, can department, in scrutiny, raise any point regarding the same that you have to maintain such registers..????
