US CPA will help only if you wish to remain in USA/similar countries. CFA has appeal only if you are interested in investment banking.
IFRS/US GAAP and transfer pricing have universal application today. So if you want to come back to India, pick any of the three depening upon your preference. while IFRS/US GAAP are audit side courses, transfer pricing is all about international transactions.

Hey Supriya! Since you’re a CA currently in the USA and planning to return to India, here’s a quick breakdown to help you choose the best course alongside your CA for good career prospects:
1. US CPA Best if you want to work in US accounting firms or multinational corporations with a US focus.
Limited direct benefit in India unless working in US-based MNCs or doing cross-border work.
Since you plan to return to India, this may not be the top choice.
2. CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Highly valued if you want to enter investment banking, equity research, portfolio management, or finance roles in India.
Globally recognized and boosts your finance credentials.
3. IFRS / US GAAP Certifications Given India’s increasing adoption of IFRS-aligned Ind AS and many companies dealing with US GAAP, expertise here is in demand.
Good for audit, financial reporting, and multinational companies.
4. Transfer Pricing Certification Very relevant if you want to specialize in international taxation and cross-border transactions.
High demand in multinational companies, consulting firms, and tax advisory roles.
Recommendation for you: Since you’re in the USA and plan to return to India, IFRS/US GAAP and Transfer Pricing certifications make a lot of sense — you can do these remotely and they have universal application. If you’re interested in finance/investment roles, CFA is also a strong choice.
Regarding Institutes for Transfer Pricing: Reputation matters a lot — go for well-known, credible institutes like AIDT, IITF, IMF, EY, or even internationally recognized ones.
Check for course curriculum, faculty, placement support, and alumni network before enrolling.
