whether long term or short term capital gain?

28 September 2010 i have purchased a house in the year2000 and make payment in installment and received possession in the year 2008 and also get registry (RD) in 2008 and sold it in 2009.
i want to know whether gain on it is short term or long term capital gain (i.e. from where period of holding is considered).
