When refund from salary income would be received?????

I have filed my fathers return in the month of July 2013 for the financial year 2012-13. He has refund of Rs.5000 but till date refund is not received??????When it would be received???

one of the my client filed itr - II processed in and refund received dec 28th 2013 filed in June 2013.

Actually the problem is my father got retirement from his govt.job in the month of August 2012 and in feb.2013 he has been reappointed on contract basis.His TDS for the financial year 2012-13 was deducted on the basis of Rs.200000 (instead of Rs.250000 as in august 2012 he attained the age of 60 years).
While i filled his return the ITR shows refund of Rs.5000. But neither his return processed till date nor refund is received.

I am very much worried as i have filed ITR-2 because on retirement he got some amount like gratuity, leave encashment which were approximately 20 lakhs so i filed ITR-2 as his exempt income was more than 5000.
Dont know what would happen even his return is not yet processed.
