30 July 2015 My question is in regard to rate of service tax ..is anybody sure of what rate is applicable in upcoming CA final exams ..is it 12.36 % or 14 % ??

31 July 2015 Changes applicable before 6 months from the date of exam ae applicable. Rate of Service tax changed to 14% w.e.f. 1 June 2015 which is within 6 months from examination.

In my opinion there is no harm in making a calculation at 12.36% and putting a note at the end that the rate of service tax changed from 12.36% to 14% w.e.f. 1 June 2015. That will create a good impression.
