What is thr consequences if some one else is using pan no. issued to the person

23 March 2014 i used to file my return manually. but for this year when i decided to file return online i found that some one else was filling online return since 5 -6 years using my pan no. i dont how he got my pan no. and i need to know i need to tacle this..

24 March 2014 Try to reset the password and login to your account. download the ITR acknowledgements where you will find the email id of the person who filed. this is how you can reach to that person. keep such records in you file. whenever there is any action from department you can produce them. Till then file your current return and also give a letter to your local ward about whatever has happened, keep an o/c of such letter acknowledged by your local ward. Nothing to worry, as its not your fault

25 March 2014 thanx sir. i already did whatever u advised me. but the main problem is that i had to claim refund but i am unable to claim refund because some one else filles his return on my pan no. it is huf pan no. and karta of other parth and my huf are same. so this thing happened. other party also have same pan no. i think i is department fault
