what is the difference between a perk and fb?

we were informed that the fringe benefits were abolished. but i am getting confused with a perquisite and fringe benefit. i wud b grateful if u will resolve this query.

the ques u raised is not of tax... its pure English.
In simple terms, Fringe Benifit is something which one gives to another. Eg: Company gives benifits to its employees which is called fringe benifits.

Perks are something tat arise to an individual. Eg: a company doesnt give its employees perks, it gives oly benifits, which in turn are enjoyed by the employees as perquisities.

I hope u r clarified. if not, i ll cite further some more examples
