20 January 2014 This is to inform you that it is mandatory for Government deductors, who are reporting TDS without payment through bank challans, to quote correct Book Identification Number (BIN), while filing TDS/TCS statement. In case correct BIN is not quoted in the respective TDS statement, a Short Payment demand shall be raised by CPC(TDS).

It is sort of payment Identification number used by govt. for books adjustment with respect to TDS remited intr-dept.

20 January 2014 while filing TDS return of 24Q & 26Q is it necessary to fill details of BIN..& how to get BIN no. for each quarter because with out BIN No. I kept filing TDS return that's why I received plenty of Notices with demand as short deduction...kindly help me out.
