Dear Kamlesh
Presently It is not compulsory to pay wages by bank or cheque. However Govt
has made recent amendment in the Payment of Wages Act where It introduced the provision that Govt can any time by notification make mandatory payment of wages by cheque or NEFT fr certain class of companies / firms as will be specified in the notification of official Gazette
