Can anyone tell me how to audit the purchases of a manufacturing co..and also what are the items to be kept in mind while checking the excise duty leviable on purchase invoices..please reply..

Pls go through your IPCC or PCC Auditing Book.
Matching of Excise Duty Charge on Bills and in Books need to be correlated with all Excise Regsiters.

you need got hrough the latest excise rates ion teh material manufactored by the concern together with the accoutning of excise and cenvat for the same.. also check from seller of goods personally on sample invoices..
