Urgent: --pan wrong quoted in form 16 by employer

06 August 2011 DEAR FRIENDS,

IF ANY EMPLOYER QUOTE WRONG PAN IN FORM 16 GIVEN TO EMPLOYEE THEN HOW ASSESSEE (EMPLOYEE) CAN CLAIM THE TDS REFUND DEDUCTED BY EMPLOYER THAT IS DEPOSIT IN WRONG PAN.

EMPLOYER ALSO NOT MENTION TDS RECEIPT NO.ON FORM 16.

WHAT CAN THE ASSESSEE (EMPLYOEE) DO NOW.

06 August 2011 It is serious dicrepancy. The employer has to rectify it. check u r 26AS, whether the TDS credit is reflected or not. If not ask the employer for the refund of tax deducted.
