Uploading of 15CB

This query is : Resolved

26 October 2025 While filing Form 15CB online saving a page, every time I come across a pop-up message -Please fix the following issues to proceed further. Invalid Input. Max length allowed is 60. But while saving every page that action is allowed to save. I have tried in various ways to keep the number of characters within 60 and remove all Special Characters. I have been trying for last three days even with different browsers. The result is that I could not submit it finally. Because of this problem my client suffers much in business. Please help us out and suggest an alternative way.

26 October 2025 The error generally occurs in Remittance Description, Bank Name, or SWIFT code-related fields where the system incorrectly enforces the “60-character” rule even on valid entries.
The issue persists across browsers and sessions, and many users (including CAs) have reported the same problem on X (formerly Twitter) and professional groups.

Use CSV Upload Instead of Manual Entry:
Prepare Form 15CB details offline in an XML or JSON format generated through CA tools (like Tally or ClearTax CA Suite) and upload it directly in the portal’s “Forms Offline” section. This bypasses frontend validation errors.

Clear Cached Data:
Log out, clear browser cache and cookies completely, then log in again using either Microsoft Edge (preferably latest version) or Chrome Incognito mode.

Temporary Field Workaround:
If the error persists, try trimming line breaks and invisible spaces. You may paste the description first into Notepad, then copy it back to the form — this removes hidden non-ASCII characters often causing validation errors.

Alternate Browser or Device:
Use a different system with a fresh browser instance. Avoid autofill or copy-paste from Word or Excel directly.

Submit via Helpdesk Escalation:
The Income Tax Department has officially advised users facing portal glitches to report to

26 October 2025 If the e-filing form continues to fail on submission:

You can generate Form 15CB offline (in XML format) using the CA’s DSC utility, then manually upload it under “Authorized Submission” through the e-File → Income Tax Forms → Upload XML option.

Alternatively, you can complete Form 15CA Part C manually and attach the manually signed Form 15CB with it until the portal glitch is resolved. The Income Tax Department accepts such manual uploads temporarily when systemic bugs exist.

In short, the issue is on the portal side and not due to your data entry. Use the offline utility or escalate via Income Tax CPC to submit Form 15CB successfully.
