Two pan cards surrender options

Quick Summary

If you possess two PAN cards, you can surrender the duplicate by submitting a PAN Change Request application. Mention your current PAN on the form and list all other PANs for cancellation in item no. 11, attaching copies of the PAN cards to be surrendered. Failure to link your PAN with Aadhaar by June 30, 2023, will render it inoperative.

Question:
Assessess pan card surrender to local jurisdiction officer only or any other option.

17 July 2023 You may fill and submit PAN Change Request application form by mentioning the PAN which you are using currently on top of the form.
All other PAN/s inadvertently allotted to you should be mentioned at item no. 11 of the form and the corresponding PAN card copy/s should be submitted for cancellation along with the form.

17 July 2023 According to the Income Tax Department, if the PAN is not linked with Aadhaar before June 30, 2023, it will become inoperative — meaning the PAN holders will no longer be able to use their ten-digit alphanumeric number.
