Twice i. t refund received

17 September 2011 our client has been received 2 times refund for the same A.Y. Once at the time of intimation u/s 143(1)and again at the time of block asstt. A.O has not given the effect of refund received as per intimation u/s 143(1). However A.O has taken indemnity bond before issuing the said refund. Now what to do.

17 September 2011 You advice your client to to return the refund received second time as a prudent man stating that he has received first refund referring Order No...dated... etc.
It is not ethical on part of a person to take two refunds for the same subject.

But at the same time suggest to carefully go through the block assessment order and confirm that its really a twice refund before returning the Refund cheque.

Precaution is always better....
