Transmission of HUF shares

01 September 2010 My father expired 12 years back in an accident without leaving any WILL. He was karta of his HUF. He was promoter director of a public ltd co. His HUF was holding some equity shares in this co. And now we requested the company to tranmit the shares in my name. But company is asking for HUF partition deed, and we do not have any whereabout of deed. Please advise what should be done in this case?

01 September 2010 The shares can be continued in the account of the HUF. However, the name of the karta should be changed to the new karta of the HUF.

Incase the HUF is to be dissolved then there is a seperate procedure for the same.
