Transfer of TIN number under DVAT

12 August 2010 Ours is a partnership firm registered under DVAT. Now we have incorporated a private limited
company. The new company now plans to takeover the partnership firm. My question is can the existing
tin number be transferred to the new company or we need to surrender the existing TIN number and
obtain new number in the name of the company

13 August 2010 The transfer of DVAT Tin Number is a relatively cumbersome process. It is better that you surrender Partnership TIN No and apply for New registration in Company name, this way, you would be better off as to liabilities under old sales tax / VAT Mattersetc. Technically, yes it is possible to apply for change in constitution of assess under DVAT Rules.
