Transfer of sole proprietor business.

My friend is having a sole proprietor business(trading buss.) registered in the name of his mother. Business is not in operation since last 2 years.Now he wants to get it transfer to his name and continue operations. Please suggest the procedure and Legal requirements. Is there an option of transfer through gift deed?

Make an agreement and sale deed of the business and take over all assets and liabilities from your mother. after that you get your name inserted at all places including trade licence to transfer the ownership.

Appoint a lawyer and prepare a sale deeds and agreement to transfer all assets and liabilities to you.
