11 December 2012 can we(pvt ltd company,not registered in excise)do trading of exisable goods,if yes then what will be the limit of trading.

11 December 2012 Actually I didn't get your querry. Could you please explain the matter in detail?? Because Excise act is applicable on manufacturing and not on trading!!!

12 December 2012 actually the company is in its establishment period so till now its not registered in excise,now we want to purchase finished goods from a manufacturing company and wanna sale those goods in our brand name....and is the repacking of excisable goods possible with the lable of.......""sale & marketing by:"

12 December 2012 If you will repack the goods with your own name or relabel the goods then the activity will be covered under the defination of deemed manufacturing. Hence you will require registration. But there is an exemption for a manufacturing upto a limit of 150 lakhs. hence you will require registration as soon as your turnover exceeds 150 lakhs. But you will be required to give a simple declaration when your turnover exceeds 90 lakhs.
