Trade licence necessary for professional or not?

19 October 2013 I BEING APPROACHED TO UNITED BANK OF INDIA FOR THE OPENING OF CURRENT ACCOUNT OF MY FIRM. BUT THEY ASKED ME TO PRODUCE TRADE LICENCE , BEING A PROFESSIONAL HOW CAN I PRODUCE TRADE LICENCE AS I AM NOT TRADER.

21 October 2013 DEAR SIR,

a Chartered Accountant in practice is not required to obtain any trade licence for practicing as a professional. The certificate of practice issued by the Institute is the only requirement to practice as a Chartered Accountant.
