17 August 2018 This statement has challan(s) with zero deductee rows. Please select the checkbox for no deductee rows. This the message received after filing 26Q1 for FY 2018-19. To download tds challans. Not able to do. Please help the same in this regard.

02 August 2025 The message **"This statement has challan(s) with zero deductee rows. Please select the checkbox for no deductee rows"** appears when filing a TDS return (like **Form 26Q**) through **RPU (Return Preparation Utility)** or at the time of **uploading the return file on the e-TDS portal**.

This indicates that **a challan has been included in the return**, but **no deductee (employee/vendor) data** has been linked to it — i.e., **TDS deposited but not yet allocated to any payee**.

## ✅ Here's how to fix it:

### 📌 Step-by-step solution in RPU (NSDL utility):

1. **Open your return file** in the **RPU (Return Preparation Utility)**.
2. Go to the **Challan details** section.
3. Find the **challan(s) with no deductees** associated.
4. In the column titled:
🔹 **"Whether deductee details are available?"**
or
🔹 **“Challan with no deductee row?”**
✅ **Check the box** or select "Yes" for such challans.
5. Save the return and **revalidate** the file using FVU (File Validation Utility).
6. Upload the corrected file through TIN or TRACES.

* This **does NOT mean there's an error**—just that the system needs **explicit confirmation** that the challan has no deductee rows **intentionally**.
