Can we write off telephone deposit at the same year in which it is paid?

Actually these telephone deposit we never get back.then how can we call it as refundable?

Hi Shinitha,
If you apply for proper disconnection of accounts it is either adjusted into the bill or is refunded.
If you discontinue the service without closing of the no only than deposits are not refunded.
Its better not to write it off.

Practically people are saying while they cancell there phone connection ,they didint get back their security amount.thats y iasked that question.
