30 July 2017 insurance company is deducting TDS from sums paid to policy holder under the above section even though the recipient is NRI and premium paid through NRE account Is the above section is applicable to such payments by insurance company? kindly let have your opinion

30 July 2017 Sec 194DA is applicable only on payments to resident indians.

I assume that the recipient did not inform the insurance company about his non resident status.
