Tds on transportation charges

Dear Expert,
Our client has received an invoice from the custom house agents stating the amt of custom duty paid, transportation charges paid and service charges separately. Whether tax is required to be deducted on the entire amt stated in the invoice (aggregate)
or
Only on the service charges?
supplementary question:
Will our client be liable to pay service tax on the transportation charges as a service receiver?

Please ask your client wheather the service provider is clearing and forwarding agent or GTA.
If clearing and forwarding agent then you need to deduct tds on the service charges because service charges is the amount for carrying out any work.
So according to facts of your question , I feel it is clearing and forwarding agent.
Further confirm from client.
