Pls tell me whether tds has to be deducted on transporters bill or not.since there is amendment from 01.10.09

If Pan abailable no Tds to be deduct otherwise TDS to be deduct.

Agreed with Mr. Ram,
1). If pan is quoted by transporter contractor - No TDS.
2). If pan is not quoted by transporter - TDS @ 1% in case of Individual or 2% in case of any other entity.
