05 November 2008 Whether Tax has to be deducted at source on Payment of Rent on Land to NTPC and Maharastra state power generation Company limited respectively and if so at what rate?

05 November 2008 yes if payement exceed Rs.150000 @ 22.66%(20%+SC 10%+2%+HEC1%)....

however if payee is a local body or Govt TDS will not attract....

NTPC is a govt na...so it wil not attract fot NTPC...

other body is a govt or local authority then TDS wil not attract ya
