If your company has deducted Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) on the reimbursement of a laptop you purchased with your own funds, it's not necessarily foul play. You can claim this deducted TDS back when you file your Income Tax Return (ITR). The reimbursement should be declared under the 'Perquisites' category.
