Can u tell me whether TDS on rent will be applicable for Lease payment For Rs 200000.We will make payment directly to the party there is no commission or Brokerage Involved.And also let me know any service tax applicable?

23 November 2010 Yes TDS would be deductible u/s 194I @ 10%.

23 November 2010 Agreed as far as TDS is concerned, No service tax if the amount of Rs 200000 is annual, if monthly, service tax is applicable

23 November 2010 TDS will be applicable if you are making the rent payment over and above 180000.

23 November 2010 Applicability of service tax will depend upon whether the receipients rent receipt exceeds Rs. 10 lakhs or not and not whether we are making payment less than Rs. 10 lakhs or more i think. So i disagree with taxindiaconnect to that extent.
