Tds on intt deducted in the month of march & 31 march 2009

01 December 2011 could you help me what is exact date of depositing tds, which is deducted in the month of march & on 31.03.2010.
ITax deptt asking for late payment charges which we have deposited in the month of april 2010. Is there demand is fair. pls guide me.

02 December 2011 the last date of deposit of tds for the month of march and 31.03.10 is last day of march i.e. 31.03.2010.
The demand of itax is fair so you pay late charges to itax deptt.

02 December 2011 Tax deducted on provision on last day of the Financial year 2009-10 to be deposited by 31st May of 2010 . For other tax deductions for the month of march 2010 the due date is April 07, 2010. From FY 2010-11 onwards tax deducted in whole month of March is required to be deposited by 30th April of immediately next Financial Year
