TDS for my flat

I have rented out my flat to a company for a rent of 12000/- per month. I have received Rs. 10,800/- towards rent after the company deducted a TDS of Rs 1200/-. I hear that the TDS ceiling for house rent has been raised to 1,80,000/- with effect from this financial year. Is it right / confirmed? can I ask my tenant not to deduct the TDS in view of the raised ceiling?

Yes, the limit is raised high to 1.8L from 1.2L but this is effective from 01 Jul 2010. Till that date the limit stands to 1.2L p.a.
