TDS e-return RPU

27 April 2009 After the Return Preparation Utility (RPU for E-TDS Returns) from NSDL is filled up an error message is displayed that Bank Challan details are mandatory for Non-Government deductors.

But I am unable to locate Bank Challan details coloumn in the RPU Software. This software only mentions Transfer Voucher/Challan No. and not Bank Challan no.

Kindly guide me and provide some solution for the same.

27 April 2009 Transfer Voucher/Challan No. and the Bank challan number is one and same thing.

28 April 2009 No it is not same bcoz when i mention the Bank challan details in transfer voucher no column it displays an error that transfer voucher no is only applicable for govt organisations

29 April 2009 Yes Vidya, you are right,bank challan no. and challan no. are same and only applicable for pvt. sector companies.In your case at first you should check challan no. are filled properly in all TDS payment detail,i think in any one or more TDS payment detail challn no. note entered by you.

29 April 2009 I have already checked all the TDS details filled up in RPU Software and nothing is left out i could not locate separate column for Bank Challan so the error message is displayed that bank challan details required.

30 April 2009 can send the incorrect fvu file of txt file.
I think you have ticked or marked 'Yes' in column "Whether TDS deposited by book entry."
