TDS deducted by deductor on provision on 31.03.2019

16 November 2019 TDS deducted by deductor on 31.03.19 on provision basis but when invoice received invoice date is 17.04.19. Is against TDS will be deducted due to invoice date is 17.04.19 or no need to be deducted?

16 November 2019 TDS to be deducted / accounting at the time of accounting or payment whichever is earlier. If expenses is accounted on 31.03.2019 relating to that party, TDS to be deducted on 31.03.2019. But the question arises how the party account is credited and expenses debited without the invoice? In that case expenses to be debited and accrued expenses to be credited without touching party account provided there is no objection from audit.

16 November 2019 As the invoice is raised by the party only on 17.04.19, they have booked the income only in FY 2019-2020. There is chance of taking into accrued income in the FY 2018-19 by the party and you have to check with him. TDS cannot be deducted and remitted in the party head without invoice / Debit Note
