dear sir
while trying to file one of my friends IT returns through online, I got the following issue. Kindly please clarify the same.
Income from salary = 765432.00
Less 80 C & 80 F = 120000.00
___________
= 645432.00
Tax as per form 16 = 60086.00
Education cess = 1803.00
Total tax paid = 61889.00
apart from that he had earned interest on FD for Rs. 68188/- for which bank has deducted TDS of Rs.6824/ and issued form 16A.
as per the above details, tax amount paid are correct.
but in ITR 2, it is taking total taxable income as 765432 (Salary income,as per form 16 and tax paid)+68188(i.e interest recd and tax paid as per form 16A)=833620 and considering tax as per the present IT slab.
can any one please inform where to mention the interest earned from bank.
