Dear sir,
During the financial year 2008-2009 a sum of Rs 7850/- has been deducted from my salary as tax deducted at source. however i received the certificate recently from my erstwhile company. is there any possibility of recovering the money from the income tax department as my tax liability is NIL for F.Y 2009-2010

Verify whether as per the income tax slabs any income tax was payable and and after that if your tax liability is Nil the TDS paid cannot be recovered as it has been paid as income tax. However, if your income is not taxable then the same can be claimed as a refund from the Income tax department.
