dear sir,
our customer gave us exemption certificate us/ 197J @0.55% for the year 2013-14. but we deducted & paid payment to govt.u/s 194 C @0.55% & return filled also. Now we got notice from IT dept for short deduction. Please tell me solution.

In my opinion department may be correct

entries relating to 197 is required to be entered against TAG "B"
.
vide ammended rule 31A through notification 16/2011 dated 29.03.2011 which will be effective from 01.04.2011
