10 September 2013 Government made it mandatory to deduct TDS on sone certain payments which is covered in 194C,194J,1949I,194IA,194H,,,

It was introduced to get some prepaid tax from income of payees
.
.
if tds concept not available governement will get revenue only at july or september so they introduced concept of tds to avoid loss of interest
