I m confused whether the stipend recd. during articleship is taxable or not ?????

the post in experts read as
"If the Stipend granted is for furthering education or gaining knowledge , same can be claimed exempt u/s 10[16] of the Income tax Act, 1961." which is not the fact which is discussed in the forum and hence the same is taxable.
